Software industry works on the premise of having the ability to provide solutions to issues arising in running day to day activities. Information technology also carries the ability to deliver answers to questions which may come up in the near future.

Some companies have made a business out of providing answers at a predictable rate. They are measurable and are based on a self learning curve. It is universally known by the CMM model. CMM works best when the answers are for questions which are known. Predictability is a measure benchmarked on knowns. Businesses worldwide have been grappling with trying to identify the difference between the known’s and unknown’s in their midst. Building a solution on guidelines which are defined is straightforward; it is a matter of having the ability to grasp the equation along with the capability to put together pieces in the jigsaw. 

What do we do when we want to build solutions which solve tomorrow’s problems?

A project built to today’s specification becomes obsolete if tomorrow the specifications itself are not lines drawn on rocks (which is normally not the case in a highly vibrant information interchange medium)

Technology ahead is an endeavor to work on making solutions future enabled. Solutions need to be designed to run today, but they also need to be adaptable to remain relevant with changes in information technology age.  Solutions should have the lifecycle of an idea, implementation and usage changes but the idea stays relevant.
